Παρουσίαση του βιβλίου του Ανδρέα Αργυρόπουλου, «Ένας άγιος της άγονης γραμμής. Οσιομάρτυς Νεόφυτος ο Αμοργίνος» (εκδ. Αρμός, Αθήνα 2017), στον χώρο των εκδόσεων «Αρμός», Αθήνα, την Παρασκευή 26-1-2018.
Η προσφορά του βιβλίου, κατά τη γνώμη μου, έγκειται αφενός στο ότι μας γνωρίζει έναν άγιο άγνωστο μέχρι πρότινος, έναν μοναχό που θανατώθηκε από Αγαρηνούς στους Λειψούς το 1558, και αφετέρου στο ότι ανοίγει (ή μάλλον: κρατά ανοιχτά) ορισμένα μείζονα ζητήματα:
- Την προσοχή η οποία χρειάζεται στη διαδικασία της ανακήρυξης αγίων, και άρα
- Την έρευνα η οποία αναγκαιοί προς τούτο. Για όσους πιστεύουν ότι όλα τα παλιά είναι αυτομάτως και ιερά, θυμίζω ότι ο άγιος Νικόδημος ο Αγιορείτης είχε διευκρινίσει ότι για να γράψει τον «Συναξαριστή» του συνέλεξε χειρόγραφα από διάφορες μονές, τα οποία όμως φρόντισε να αποκαθάρει από στοιχεία που ήταν αντίθετα στην Αγία Γραφή και απίθανα για τον ορθό λόγο και τους κριτικούς! Η κριτική ματιά είναι χρέος – όχι παρασπονδία.
- Την έννοια της «άγονης γραμμής», η οποία αφορά όχι απλώς γεωγραφικούς τόπους, αλλά την ίδια μας τη ζωή. Στην παρουσίασή μου υπενθύμισα τη μακρά Βιβλική και εκκλησιαστική δυναμική της εισόδου στους άγονους χώρους (στις άγονες πλευρές) της ζωής, ώστε να μεταμορφωθούν σε γόνιμους. Η δυναμική αυτή έχει και το αντίστροφο: το ενδεχόμενο νέκρωσης τέως ζωντανών πραγματικοτήτων. Τελεσιδικία στην πορεία δεν υπάρχει. Είναι η ζώσα πίστη, η πράξη η εμπνεόμενη απ’ αυτήν, και η δράση του ζωντανού Θεού, αυτό που φέρνει εκπλήξεις. Ουρανομήκης αλήθεια αυτό που έχει πει ο προφήτης Ησαϊας, φυσικά κόντρα σε πλήθος κοινωνικά στερεότυπα: "Ψάλε εσύ [...] άτεκνη, που ποτέ δεν γέννησες! Φώναξε από χαρά και πανηγύρισε, εσύ που ωδίνες τοκετού ποτέ δεν ένιωσες! Γιατί ο Κύριος λέει πως πιότερα είναι τα παιδιά της έρημης, απ' τα παιδιά της έγγαμης γυναίκας" (54: 1).
Αυτή η δυναμική ριζώνει στον θεμελιωδώς απελευθερωτικό χαρακτήρα της θεολογίας. Απελευθέρωση από το κάθε λογής άγονο, το οποίο καθυποτάσσει εαυτούς και αλλήλους. Κοντολογίς, καθαυτήν η θεολογία (οφείλει να) είναι θεολογία της απελευθέρωσης.
